New ‘slow down’ signs on Sutton Common Road

Two LED anti-speeding signs were erected in Sutton Common Road recently after Lib Dem ward councillors responded to concerns of residents about speeding.

Residents we have spoken to appear pleased with the signs which have made a difference to average speeds.

Your Lib Dem ward councillors recently carried out a house-to-house consultation over what further traffic control measures may be necessary.

81% of residents were concerned about speeding, with 78% favouring a new pedestrian crossing while 60% wanted more use of speed guns and LED signs.

We are listening to what local residents want. We’ve delivered LED signs and are now talking to council officers about delivering more measures to reduce traffic speeds.
